Jawbone sucks

Email exchange with Aliph’s Jawbone Support Team:

My First Email to Aliph’s Support – 07/04/2009 01:46 PM

I just got the headset maybe 1.5 weeks ago. It seemed to work great for the first time or two using it.

Now it appears to fully charge in just a couple of minutes. That is, when charging it, it will change from a solid red and several minutes later be solid white.

When I try to use it, it sometimes shows white and maybe 5 seconds later it flashes red. Sometimes it will flash red as soon as I try to use it.

I can get 20-60 seconds of talking before it turns off.

I like the headset, but in this state it’s completely worthless.

Hello,

Have you tried resetting your jawbone?

My Second Email to Aliph’s Support – 07/05/2009 05:08 PM

Yes. I went ahead and tried again to no avail

Hello,

When you reset the jawbone what did you do?

My Third Response – 07-06-2009 7:12 PM

I let it charge until it had a white light and repaired it with the iPhone. Then I tested it out. It stopped communicating with the phone in about 30 seconds.

Follow-Up Email About 48 Hours Later – 07-06-2009 07:12 PM

It has been two days since I’ve heard anything back, this is getting ridiculous. My experience with the company isn’t going so well.

Return Question – 07-06-2009 08:40 PM

What is considered proof of purchase for a RMA?

Good News from woot.com.

After dealing with the Jawbone support, I decided I’d better look into woot.com’s very limited 90 day warranty. I was given a RMA from them with return instructions the very next morning.

As of 2009-07-09 04:59 PM I have not heard back from Jawbone Support.

Final update: I received my refund from woot.com on August 31, 2009. I know it seems like it took the refund forever to make it to me, but I procrastinated just a bit mailing it back to woot.com. I bought a Jabra BT530 in its place. It has been working great for me.
